Elisabeth Jones: Chapter 2

Chapter 2: Getting Ready

The next morning, Elisabeth peeked out of her silk teepee and smelled the fresh air. Lilly, Mukala, Timothy, and Nathan did the same thing. The whole group was disappointed to not see Martha there, but they were anxious to find her.
“All right, guys, let’s get up. Time to start a new day,” said Elisabeth.
She got up and right away went to groom Twilight before the big journey.
Twilight was eating some hay. She wished she did not have to get up so early, but she missed Martha. Even though Twilight was a horse, she still liked Martha riding her every morning.
Elisabeth walked into the barn and said, “Hi, Twilight! Time to start a new day, an exciting new day!”
Twilight shook her head.
A few hours later, Elisabeth had a backpack on, and she looked so pretty today. She was holding a bow and arrow on her back.
“Wow!” said Timothy. “You look pretty!”
“Thank you,” said Elisabeth. “You look handsome.”
“Are you tacking up Twilight?” said Timothy.
“Yup. Are you getting Buddy ready?” said Elisabeth.
Just then she giggled a little because Buddy was getting a little too fat to be going on an adventure like this.

  1. I love your details, and your use of words that use the five senses, like “silk teepee” and “smelled the fresh air.” Also, your details are great, like what she was holding, their thoughts, and the conversations. I think your story is coming along really well! 🙂
